As my first post, I owe a HUGE thank you to my sponsors (listed on the left)!!! Bike and Build has been a dream of mine since high school, so by turning this opportunity into a reality for me I am forever grateful. Your support will assist the millions of Americans in need whose income is too low to pace with the rise in living costs, and it will fuel me through my cross-country expedition that is guaranteed to be the most demanding physical and mental challenge of my life. With every nail hammered that builds toward a more equitable America, and every mile clocked on my bike that deepens my perception of our nation, I will think of my sponsors who are counting on me to see it through to the finish line. I could have done all the training, and could have had the highest intention to alleviate American families of the housing crisis, but knowing family and friends are behind me is the greatest motivator that will keep me pedaling day after day.
Although my spring term classes haven't quite ended and I still have finals to get through, it's getting increasingly harder to resist completely enveloping myself in the Bike and Build summer that is so close! Over and over again I've been told from past Bike and Builders what an incredible summer awaits me and I can't believe it's about time to get underway! June 19th is the start date...only a couple more weeks to go!!
